This policy explains what the Virro iOS app and the https://virro.online website collect, why, and how it's deleted. Questions? Write to [email protected].
In short
- No ads, no ad trackers, no cross-app tracking, no selling of data.
- Your video never leaves your phone. Only a few small frames and your caption are sent for analysis, and they aren't kept afterwards.
- Your account holds only your reports, your Studio generations and your onboarding answers.
- You can delete your account in the app under Settings › Delete account; everything on our server goes with it.
What we collect
Account
When you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us an identifier that represents you and, if you choose to share them, your email address and name. If you use Apple's Hide My Email we never see your real address. So that we can revoke the Apple connection when you delete your account, we keep a refresh token from Apple, encrypted. There are no passwords.
Onboarding answers
The answers you give at the start (where you post, what you make, your goal, how often you post) are saved to your account and used to tailor your analyses.
Video analysis
When you pick a video, the app extracts up to 12 small frames on your phone and reads any on-screen text, also on your phone. Those frames, that text and, if you add it, your caption are sent through our server to an AI provider, which returns the report. The video itself is never uploaded. Frames and captions are used to produce the report and are not stored; only the report (title, score, findings, suggestions, estimates) is saved to your account. A small preview image from the first frame is kept on your phone only.
Studio
The topic and details you type in the Studio are sent to the AI provider in the same way. The hooks, captions and ideas it produces are saved to your account under their topic; the newest 100 per tool are kept. You can delete any of them in the app.
Subscriptions
Premium is bought through Apple; your payment details never reach us. Your subscription status is recorded on your account through our purchase provider, RevenueCat, which knows you only by your account identifier.
App configuration
The app fetches some settings from Google Firebase Remote Config. It uses a random installation identifier to recognise this install of the app; it doesn't identify you as a person. Firebase Analytics is not used.
Technical records
To limit abuse we keep daily usage counts (analyses and Studio), and to track AI costs the amount of text processed. Server logs include the IP address of requests; they're kept for security and rotated out after a short time. The website uses no cookies or analytics.
What we don't collect
- Your video itself or your photo library; only the video you pick is opened.
- Your location, contacts or advertising identifier.
- Payment details; payments stay entirely with Apple.
Who we share with
We don't sell your data or share it for marketing. To run the service we work only with: an AI provider (a language model accessed through OpenRouter; only analysis and Studio requests, to produce the response), RevenueCat (subscription status) and Google Firebase (app configuration). Where the law requires it, data may be shared with authorities to the extent requested.
Where data is stored
Account data is kept on a server in Germany. Connections are encrypted. Backups are taken nightly.
Deletion and your rights
Settings › Delete account in the app removes your account, reports, Studio generations and subscription record from our server and revokes the Sign in with Apple connection. Your subscription must be cancelled separately with Apple. To request a copy of your data or a correction, write to [email protected].
Children
Virro is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date on this page is updated; significant changes are also announced in the app.
